An Early Birthday Treat
Jeff's parents visited us this weekend and we celebrated Max's 1st birthday with them. Max loved spending time with Grammy and Grampy and having a fresh audience for all of his new tricks. Here are some pictures from their visit and Max's first cupcake....

No, no, no!
Why just shake your head, when you can use your whole body?

4th of July
We celebrated our first 4th of July in Cottonwood. Independence Day is a big deal in our neighborhood. Events start at 7am with a 5k run (Max and I watched from our front porch!)and go until the 9pm fireworks. As Max gets older I'm sure he'll want to be part of all the festivities, but this year, we were mostly observers.
Waiting for the parade to start.

This is Max's "innocent" face.
This is how Maggie spent most of July 4th.

11 Months Old
It is so hard to believe that Max will be our "baby" for only one more month. Time is flying by. Here are some pictures from yesterday, his eleven month birthday. He was pretty grumpy all day so I didn't get one picture of him smiling. Ironically, his shirt reads, "Happy as a Clam."
Max loves pulling all his toys out of the toy box.

New Discovery
While attempting to get ready for an interview this morning, I suddenly realized that Max had become very quiet. Never a good sign....

Water Baby
Jeff, Max and I headed to our neighborhood pool for the first time this weekend. Max loves bathtime, so we were pretty sure he would enjoy the pool. We were right! He liked splashing around in the baby pool, but he really loved floating with us in the big pool. He was in the water the entire time and could have happily stayed in much longer.
