Eight Months Old

Max is 8 months old today. This past month has gone by so quickly. Max is now sitting up well on his own. He is also rolling around all over the place and getting ready to crawl. He can get his bottom up in the air and he rocks back and forth, but hasn't made any forward movement yet. He usually ends up scooting backwards. His bottom two teeth have finally broken through the gum line. He is still a drool monster and chews on everything, but at least he's not as crabby! Max is also a really good eater. He loves his solid food meals. He'll eat pretty much everything we give him, even yucky green beans! He is still on pureed foods, but is almost ready for some finger foods. In general, Max is a very laid back, easily entertained baby. Jeff and I love making him laugh and will do just about anything to hear it. Max loves tickles and kisses, so he is very fun to cuddle with!

A Visit from Nana and Papa

My parents came to visit Max and me this weekend. Jeff is on a "boys trip" down in Sarasota for Reds Spring Training for the weekend. We took Jeff to the airport on Friday morning for his 7am flight and my parents flew in at 7am, so it was a very early, busy morning! We were sad to say good-bye to Jeff, but happy that Nana and Papa could keep us company.
It was a nice Spring weekend so we got to enjoy a walk in the neighborhood and through downtown Franklin. I took my parents for some Southern food at two Nashville traditions- Pancake Pantry and Puckett's. My mom was on a mission to buy Max new shoes (how could I turn down that offer?!), so we scoured the area and found Max two pairs of shoes for Spring. My parents flew out on Sunday morning. It is always hard to say good-bye, but I plan to travel to Ohio in late April for another visit. Jeff comes home this afternoon and we can't wait to see him!

We love March!

For as long as I can remember I have always disliked the month of March. It always seems to be such a long month and as a teacher it felt like Spring Break would never arrive. This year is different though! So far March has been full of adventures and today's 80 degree weather has made me change my attidute (even if it's supposed to be rainy and 50 degrees tomorrow). This past weekend Jeff parents came down for a visit. Max enjoyed spending time with them and Maggie enjoyed the company of their new dog, Inga. We had nice weather so we got to eat lunch outside and took the dogs to run and play in a field near our house. Maggie even took a swim in the river (very small river) that runs around our neighborhood. We look forward to seeing them again in May when they come down on their way to Hilton Head.Sunday night I decided to break out Max's highchair. He has never really loved his Bumbo seat, and it was a struggle, at times, to feed him in it. He seems to like the highchair. I love how tiny he looks sitting in it!

This is really the only way to test out a new product.

Max, Maggie and I took advantage of today's wonderful weather with a long walk in the neighborhood. Maggie and Max love walks. Max recently discovered his feet and as you can see, Max LOVES his feet.
